The “Talk Openly about Mental Health” project started a few years ago in the neighborhood of Gràcia (Barcelona) with the aim of telling a series of stories, opinions, reflections and experiences in the field of mental health. In these meetings, which are organized in the public streets, people who have experienced life difficulties and health professionals play a leading role. Additionally, the microphone is always open in case someone else wants to have their say.

Last Tuesday, May 23, 2023, Dr. Estefania Moreno participated, -representing Clínica Synaptica- in the edition dedicated to mental health and drugs. The talk of Dra. Moreno had the title: “Building new paradigms in mental health: The practice of Ketamine-assisted psychotherapy”. In her presentation she talked about, on the one hand, a historical contextualization of psychedelic therapy and, on the other hand, a synthesis of the work done at Clínica Synaptica based on ketamine-assisted therapy.
We encourage you to listen to this talk on our YouTube channel: Dra. Estefanía Moreno, the practice of ketamine-assisted psychotherapy.
Throughout the afternoon we were able to hear testimonies from other professionals making very interesting contributions on issues such as: the new intervention methodologies in mental health and drugs, the challenges posed by dual pathology, the fight against stigma in the ‘scope of drug consumption or how important the therapeutic bond is. In addition, several people performed poetry and music in the middle of Plaça de la Virreina.
We would like to thank the organizers of this project for the invitation to participate and, above all, congratulate them for an initiative that is both bold and successful. A big thanks to the association of facilitators for well-being “Cuida la vida”. Until next time!
