Mery Peña
Graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the National University of Colombia, with a homologated degree and registered (No. 48967) at the Barcelona Medical Association.
I completed postgraduate studies in Chinese Medicine and Qigong. Currently, I am pursuing advanced studies in common foundations of acupuncture and Chinese medicine at the School of Integrative Health.
I have over twelve years of clinical practice experience in mental health, covering general psychiatry, dual pathologies, dementias, and palliative care. In recent years, I have specialized in medicinal cannabis, using products derived from the Cannabis sativa plant as a therapeutic tool for difficult-to-manage conditions such as oncological conditions, refractory epilepsy, chronic pain, fibromyalgia, multiple chemical sensitivity, central sensitization syndromes, and orphan diseases. My work with this plant has led to a passion for phytotherapy and aromatherapy.
I believe we are at a historic moment as a species, realizing that human health, animal health, and healthy ecosystems are interdependent. Thus, we are on the path to using safe and effective tools like psychedelics to improve treatment-resistant cases of depression or chronic pain. In my daily clinical practice, I advocate for alternative health care tools and perspectives, emphasizing women’s comprehensive health
